Test Engineer (Computer Hardware)
Location: Grapevine, TX (100% Onsite)
Salary: $57,000 annually
IMPORTANT: Hardware-Focused Role
This role is strictly focused on computer hardware testing. Candidates with software-only backgrounds will not be a fit. Hands-on experience with physical components, devices, and lab testing environments is required.
About the Role
We are seeking a Test Engineer to support hands-on testing of computer hardware systems and components throughout development and manufacturing. This role works directly with physical devices, circuit-level components, and system builds in a lab/production environment.
This position is based in Grapevine, TX, with occasional support needed at the Fort Worth site.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform hands-on testing of computer hardware systems, components, and assemblies
- Develop and execute hardware test procedures for new and existing products
- Work directly with motherboards, processors, peripherals, and system builds
- Collect and analyze data from physical testing of devices and components
- Troubleshoot and diagnose hardware failures and performance issues
- Validate product functionality during manufacturing and quality control stages
- Use lab equipment to test electrical, mechanical, and system-level performance
- Document findings and recommend design or process improvements
- Support production floor testing and hardware validation processes
- Partner with manufacturing and engineering teams to resolve hardware issues
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or similar
- OR 2+ years of hands-on hardware testing experience
- Strong understanding of computer hardware architecture (NOT software development)
- Experience working with physical systems, components, and lab equipment
- Ability to troubleshoot hardware-level issues (boards, systems, peripherals)
- Basic scripting (Python, C++, CMD, XML) for test automation support only
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent documentation and communication skills
